Cosenza (1634 - 17??)

Born in Perito (Pedace, Cosenza), October 18, 1634.

He wrote important bibliographies of distinguished men, "The audience" (La Platea) , and that great, valuable Treaty, Virtually an encyclopedic work, called "Calabria Sacred and Profana", which still today is a necessary reference point for anyone wishing to research and study the history of religious Calabria of the past.

Francesco Martire

Born in Pedace February 8, 1826, Francesco Martire was a very cultured character, holds two degrees in philosophy and letters, as well as
being a renowned lawyer civilista for which "the richest families and illustrious the family formed the core of his large customers.
 
Lorenzo Martire

Born in Pedace, was one of the first calabrian insurgents against the French occupiers in 1806. Head of the insurgents in their own town, when the French overcame the attack against Pedace, downgrade

Vincenzo Martire

A native of Serra Pedace. At the command of many men established siege of the group Republicans of his country on board in a convent. He got the rank of lieutenant in the Army of the Holy See. In April
1799, he had the task of the arrest the people with riminal status in Cosenza, with the order to use the Bourbonic forces in Pedace, Aprigliano, Pietrafitta and Magli. (1)
Pietro Martire

He lived in the nineteenth century. Literate, journalist and poet. Collaborator of Life and Art, magazine directed by E. Panzacchi. Together with Pasquale Martire, in 1877 gave life to a periodic in
Cosenza, La Margherita addressed to women. By Domenico Milelli, in 1883, gave birth to the Calabria Letteraria, and in 1888 founded Vita Paesana, which was published 2 years. (1)
Alessandro Martire

He lived in the nineteenth century. Publicist, directed the Ape Calabra, literary magazine that was published in Cosenza from 15 March to 20 May 1869, for a total of 5 numbers. (1)
Pasquale Martire
(1852 - 1929)
Born in 1852 in Cosenza, novelliere and poet, was also a good musician. Employee of Corriere dei Piccoli, Vita Paesana, Don Ciarlone, and the Giornale de' bambini founded by Ferdinando Martini.
In 1877, with Pietro Martire founded the magazine La Margherita, which was perhaps the first newspaper directed to women. Three years later, the head was purchased by the House Treves Milan. Just under thirty who moved to Rome, where he died in 1929. (1)

Mario Martire
Aviator.
Cosenza (1919 - 1945)
Born in Cosenza, July 10, 1919 and descended from a family of heroes and writers of Pedace (Cs), since young shows a big passion for aviation, and in 1935, abandoned his university studies because too taken for the frenzy of the flight, Mario Martire enlist volunteer in the italian aviation, and even twenties, is incorporated with the the rank of lieutenant in a flock s.81 plane to go to work in the skies during the bloody Spanish Civil War.
